Help Xuan and MO start their new lives

Update:

On Tuesday the 23rd of March our team arrived in the Son La Province. Luckily, the bears were quite calm and not afraid when our team approached them. Maybe they knew that we want to change their life for the better. After a 10 hour drive, they finally arrived at their new home in our BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh.

Bears are very resilient, however, it will be a long way to recovery nonetheless. Both Xuan and suffer from gallbladder disease. Xuan additionally has liver disease and his teeth in terrible condition as a result of their previous living conditions and having their bile extracted every month.

You can make a difference today and support their new lives at BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh-Binh, their new home with another 40 rescued bears from bile farming and wild-life trafficking.

Life in darkness- Xuan and Mo's previous life

No light, no ventilation or fresh air, nothing but the rusty bars of tiny barren cages. Kept in a windowless and wet basement since they were cubs, bears Xuan and Mo have suffered unimaginably.

The only time they got to see light is when their owner came to feed them or worse: puncture their gallbladder with a needle, a painful procedure to extract their bile. This bile was used for medicinal purposes by the family of the owner. For years these bears have known nothing but pain and abuse.

Our team is still shocked by what they discovered in Son La province, Vietnam. These keeping conditions are one of the worst we’ve ever seen.

They deserve so much more in life

Here at our BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh, Mo and Xuan can recover from the horrors they have endured. With your compassion today, they can discover for the first time what a species-appropriate life for a bear looks like.

How can you help?

  • £10 could feed a rescued bear like Mo and Xuan for a day.
  • £25 could help to provide enrichment for an ex-bile bear.
  • £50 could contribute towards a veterinary check and treatment for bears suffering from gallbladder or kidney disease.
  • £90 could help to cover pain relief medication for bears rescued from a lifelong time of confinement.
  • £150 could help FOUR PAWS to continue to research, reveal and rescue more suffering animals in need and bring them to our sanctuaries where they will be cared for and loved.

Can Xuan and Mo count on you today?
